Irrfan Khan’s wife Sutapa Sikdar explains why women found Irrfan ‘sexy’: ‘Except for those who think Dharmendra is sexiest man’ | Bollywood News

Indian Express film critic Shubhra Gupta recently launched her book  Irrfan: A Life in Movies in Delhi. Irrfan Khan’s wife, writer-producer Sutapa Sikdar, who was also present at the event revealed that her understanding of the term ‘sexy’ differed from the conventional dictionary definition when it came to Irrfan.

During the event, when Sutapa was asked to talk about the ‘sexy’ man she was married to, Sutapa replied saying, “He was sexy because he was a delicate and fragile man, and wasn’t your typical ‘beat them up’ macho man. So from National School of Drama, those who knew him personally were aware he had a sex appeal. In my class quite a few dumb girls loved him.”

Sutapa continued, “I think women found him very charming because he respected women. He always shared a very special relationship with his co-actors. So that is very sexy actually, except for a few women who think Dharmendra is the sexiest man. Many women find it sexy, somebody who is sensible and understands you.”

Shubhra said that she spoke about the same to many actors and everyone had the same opinion. However, the critic said that Tabu refused to speak. Shubhra said, “She said that her heart is still broken and she will not be able to speak about it. That is a voice I missed in the book.”

Irrfan Khan: A Life in Movies is published by Pan Macmillan India. The book is an interesting take on the illustrious life of Irrfan, from his days at the National School of Drama to his successful career in films and television across different industries. Irrfan passed away in 2020.
