Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau completed his ‘Barbenheimer’ as he watched Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer with his daughter Ella. The 51-year-old had on Monday posted a photo with his son Xavier when he went to watch Greta Gerwig’s Barbie.
As the trend goes, Trudeau donned a pink sweatshirt as he posed for a photo with his eldest son, 15, who wore a pink T-shirt. Both of them posed in front of a Barbie film poster. “We’re team Barbie,” Trudeau captioned the photo on X, formerly Twitter.

On Wednesday, Trudeau, wearing a casual black shirt with blue jeans and a cap, posed with his daughter Ella, who was dressed in a brown tank top, camo brown pants and a white hoodie. “Balancing things out: Oppenheimer with Ella,” he captioned the pic.

Trudeau made headlines last week after announcing that he was separating from his wife, Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, after 18 years of marriage. They are parents of three children, Xavier, Ella-Grace and Hadrien.
“I gotta say, nice work Sir. It’s cool that you posted these 2 pics of going to movies with your son and daughter. That is all,” a user commented. “Love how you guys dress for the specific movie you’re going to,” said another.
‘Barbenheimer’ is a social media phenomenon that began before the simultaneous release of the films Barbie and Oppenheimer on July 21, 2023.
The trend was about contrast in both the films with Barbie being a fantasy comedy about the fashion doll Barbie and Oppenheimer, an epic biographical film about physicist J Robert Oppenheimer, scientific director of the Manhattan Project, which developed the first nuclear weapons during World War II.
Both films exceeded box office expectations but Barbie beat the collections of Oppenheimer worldwide.
