After Kartik Aaryan walked out of Dostana 2, it was reported that he and producer Karan Johar were at loggerheads with each other. However, Karan was recently spotted at the premiere of Kartik’s latest release, Satyaprem Ki Katha. Now, it seems like the two have have buried the hatchet. At a recent event in Melbourne, Kartik and Karan were photographed together at a panel discussion.
Previously, when Kartik was asked about Dostana 2 on Aap Ki Adalat, he said, “I have not spoken about this yet. I believe and it’s my etiquette that whenever there is a rift between an elder person and a younger person, the younger one is not supposed to say anything.”
Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar were supposed to join hands for Dostana 2.
Many other Indian celebrities, such as Anurag Kashyap, Rani Mukerji, Vikramaditya Motwane, Mrunal Thakur, Vijay Varma, among others, also participated in the event, alongside Kartik and Karan.
The festival kicked off on August 9 with a special screening of Satyaprem Ki Katha. The festival will also hold a screening of Abhishek Bachchan-starrer Ghoomer and the closing night will have a screening of Anurag Kashyap’s Kennedy.
During the screening of Satyaprem Ki Katha, Kartik was overwhelmed with the love he received from his fans. One of his fans in the crowd proposed to him and Kartik couldn’t help but blush. The Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 actor said that he was feeling like he was at his ‘swayamvar’, as he hugged the fan.
At another event during the festival, fans cheered for Kartik when he recited his Pyaar Ka Punchnama monologue.
Karan Johar also spoke at one of the events and said that he feels “very embarrassed looking at some of his previous work. “A lot of it is very cringy to me when I see it,” he said.
The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne concludes on August 20.
