The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday sought to arrest Aakif Nachan in the Pune ISIS conspiracy case. Nachan was arrested earlier this month in another case filed by NIA related to the conspiracy.

Nachan was produced before court on Monday and the agency said it did not want his further custody in its earlier case, but sought a production warrant to arrest him in the Pune case. Nachan is likely to be formally arrested and produced before the court in the Pune case next week.

Nachan was arrested for his alleged involvement in fabrication and testing of IEDs used in terrorist acts and arranging a hideout for two other terror operatives.
