Event held to train cops in CPR, cardiac problems | Pune News


A unique event was held in the city with the launch of the National Cardiac Arrest Awareness Week at the Shivaji Nagar Police Grounds on Monday, where close to 200 police personnel, including Commissioner of Police Rohidas Pawar, participated.

The session was conducted by renowned cardiologist Dr. Jagdish Hiremath, who trained the attendees in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and usage of Automated External Defibrillator (AED) machines. He also shared several other significant information such as difference between different cardiac situations, common misconceptions, etc.

The campaign, organised by Revive Heart Foundation (RHF), marked the initiation of a nationwide mission to train as many police personnel as possible in CPR techniques, thereby enhancing their preparedness to handle cardiac emergencies.

National coordinator for RHF Dr. Kinjal Goyal was also present along with members of Rotary Club, Laxmi Road, exemplifying the power of community partnerships in promoting public health and safety.

The event highlighted the indispensable role of police personnel as first responders in critical situations and the significance of equipping them with these skills that will help them save a lot of lives.
