Samantha Ruth Prabhu takes a trip down memory lane, recalls starting her career in New York: ‘A scared little girl without a clue’ | Telugu News

While actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s fans were surprised by her announcement of a one-year hiatus to concentrate on her health and focus on her autoimmune condition, myositis, it appears that this decision has proven wise, as the Kushi actor seems to be exuding more happiness than ever before.

Samantha, who is currently in New York, has been delighting her fans with regular life updates, along with pictures where she stylishly carries off a variety of outfits in the vibrant backdrop of the Big Apple.

Meanwhile, the performer recently journeyed into memories and recollected the inception of her career in the city that never sleeps. Reflecting on this, Samantha remarked, “They say New York is where dreams are made. I started my career when I shot for my first film here.”

“A scared little girl without a clue about how she was going to make it… but daring enough to dream the big dream! Today, 14 years later… ✨✨✨,” she noted, recalling that Jay-Z’s hip-hop song Empire State of Mind had just hit the airwaves back then, and she tuned in to it daily.

Samantha kickstarted her career in 2010 by appearing in the Tamil-Telugu (simultaneously-made) films Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa and Ye Maaya Chesave. Starring alongside Naga Chaitanya, her former husband, the Gautham Vasudev Menon films garnered her significant acclaim.

Samantha’s battle with myositis

The actor’s publicist, Mahendra had earlier told indianexpress.com that Samantha won’t be taking on any new projects for one year as she is set to leave for the USA for the treatment of her autoimmune condition, myositis, which affects her muscles leading to severe pain.

“If her condition improves earlier than expected, she may return within six months. However, the planned duration of her break is one year. She is already making good progress in her recovery, and her doctors have advised her to take mandatory rest. Samantha will depart for the US in the fourth week of August (Aug. 20),” the publicist had shared.
