Budding designers organise fashion show in moving Metro train in Nagpur, draw ire from netizens | Trending News

When people travel on a Metro train, expecting to see a fashion show on a coach brimming with commuters is almost the last thing they can think of. However, this is what happened in Nagpur when a fashion show was organised on a moving Metro train.

A full-fledged fashion show with the coach corridor acting as a walkway was conducted in Nagpur Metro on August 28. The fashion show saw the participation of people ranging from the age of two to 50 years and the theme of the show was culture and heritage, according to various reports.

The dresses worn by the participants were designed by budding fashion designers from various fashion institutes. The Nagpur Metro runs a scheme called ‘Celebration on Wheel’, under which it allows different organisations, groups and individuals to organise such events in the Metro train coaches for a fee.

A video posted on Instagram page @nagpur_xfactor_ shows the fashion show on the moving train. From little kids to women and men donning all kinds of traditional and modern outfits, the video shows commuters looking at the show unfolding in front of them with stunned expressions.

“Fashion walk In Running Nagpur Metro. Best Fashion Designer India I The HeritageCulture India proposes to create the landmark event in the history of Nagpur city,” read the caption of the video. It also mentioned that the Metro was specifically booked for this event.

“This charm is seen everyday in Delhi, we are also bored,” a user commented. “Nothing makes sense n concept,” another said with a thumbs down emoji. “Why’s my city always is in news for something like this,” wrote a third. “This! And now imagine it in Delhi metro,” another person posted.
