Students’ body flags discrepancy in reserved seats for PhD at IIT B | Mumbai News

THE AMBEDKAR Periyar Phule Study Circle (APPSC) – an informal students’ collective from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay–has alleged that in 2023 PhD admissions, students admitted on reserved category seats at the institute are less than the number of seats available for them whereas admissions confirmed on general category seats are higher than the available seats.

The institute, however, has stated that numbers have been miscalculated by the students’ collective and has provided a different data.

According to the information gathered by the APPSC through RTI, sanctioned intake for reserved categories of SCs, STs and OBCs across different departments is 63, 34 and 114 respectively.
