Police added Section 365 (abduction with the intention of secretly and wrongfully confined) of the IPC in the FIR registered against four people, who were booked for allegedly abducting, thrashing two minor boys after hanging them upright down on Thursday.

Police said the girl, who is one of the suspects, turned out to be an underage as per her Aadhaar card produced by her family members.

She was sent to a shelter home. Three other suspects identified as Vinod of Mani Majra, Rahul and another Rahul (namesake) were sent to judicial custody in Model Burail Jail on Friday.

“Section 365 of the IPC was added in the FIR after examining the legal aspects of the incident. Earlier, the FIR was registered under the bailable charges under which suspects could be released on bail immediately after the arrest from the police station,” a police officer said.

Parents of the woman, who was named in the FIR by the father of one of the victim boys, produced the Aadhaar card before the investigation agency. She was found below the age of 18 years and was sent to a shelter home, the officer said, adding that legal proceedings against her would be initiated in the Juvenile Justice Court (JJC).

Two juveniles were abducted and thrashed on the mere suspicion of mobile theft on August 25. The incident came to light when someone, who had recorded the thrashing of minors, had shown the video to father of one of the victim boys on August 27.
