In a tragic turn of events, an elderly man met with a fatal accident while attempting to remove a stray cow from his field in Gazipur village, Zirakpur. The unfortunate incident unfolded when the cow, dragged the elderly man for a harrowing 100 meters as he tried to tie the animal with a rope.
The victim, identified as Swarup Singh hailing from Gazipur Sainia in Zirakpur, ultimately lost his life at a nearby hospital in Dhakoli.

The incident occurred on a Thursday morning when a stray cow ventured into Swarup’s field, causing damage. Swarup successfully looped a rope around the cow’s neck. Unfortunately, his hand became entangled in the rope, prompting the panicked cow to flee.
The cow’s sudden escape led to a horrifying scene as it dragged Swarup along the road for an agonising 100 meters before passersby intervened to rescue him. But Swarup had sustained severe head injuries in the ordeal.
Taken to a hospital, he succumbed to his injuries during the course of treatment.
