A short video of the incident also went viral on social media, which shows a group of men abusing, kicking and punching each other. The video also shows staff trying to pacify both sides, but they were not ready to back down.

Police said they have not received any complaint in this matter. “It was a minor scuffle, nothing serious. It started when two men from each side got into an argument, which later escalated. They have not filed any complaint. However, police called both parties to the police station and talked to them. We also issued challan as a preventive measure to pre-empt breach of peace under Section 107/116 of CrPC,” said Shakti Mohan Avasthy, ADCP (Noida).

Rai, who worked at a private firm in Noida, was at Lost Lemons gastropub with his office colleagues when they got into a fight with the restaurant staffers over the bill. The fight escalated and Rai was fatally injured. According to police, nine men were involved in the brawl-murder incident and seven were arrested.
