The Sakinaka Police in Mumbai arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with the murder of a property dealer in Patna, Bihar in January this year. The accused, Navin Kumar Ranjan, was allegedly involved in the murder of Prem Paswan.
The police said that a patrol team on Friday detained Ranjan.
During sustained interrogation Ranjan admitted his role in the Paswan murder case, the police said.
In January this year, four bike-borne shooters had fired several rounds at Paswan in Mahuli village in Patna. He was traveling with a friend, who also got injured in the incident. A case was registered at the Parsa Bazar police station in Patna.
The police had made several arrests in the case, but Ranjan, who had allegedly played a key role, was wanted by the police for the past 10-months. He had come to Mumbai around 10 days ago and was hiding in the city, police said.
DCP (Zone-10) Datta Nalawade said that the Bihar Police have been informed about the detention of Ranjan and he will be handed over to the Parsa Bazar Police in Bihar for further legal action.
