In an awe-inspiring display of martial arts skills, K V Saidalavi smashed 68 coconuts placed on people’s heads with a nunchaku. With this, Saidalavi secured a world record for ‘most coconuts on heads smashed with a nunchaku in one minute’.
Interestingly, Saidalavi broke his previous record of smashing 42 coconuts. Saidalavi’s record attempt took place on the set of the Italian talent show Lo Show Dei Record in Milan, Italy in February.
The Guinness World Records shared a video of his astonishing record attempt on X on Friday. In the comments, many people noted the calm confidence displayed by volunteers who sat with coconuts over their heads as Saidalavi whipped the nunchaku, a martial arts weapon with two sticks connecting each other with a chain.

Commenting on the video, an X user wrote, “Even with a $1m payment and a sworn affidavit from God saying he will not mistakenly break my head with that thing, I no dey do.”
Another person wrote, “No amount of money, nor any force in heaven, hell, earth, the spiritual realm, or Jupiter can make me agree to volunteer for this…! Can never be me!”.
In recent years, many Indians have created world records related to coconuts. In September 2020, two Andhra Pradesh residents set a Guinness World Record for smashing the most number of coconuts kept around a person while blindfolded. Nellore native Prabhakar Reddy P smashed 49 coconuts that were set around his student Rakesh B to set the record.
In December 2017, Abheesh Dominic from Kerala marked his entry in the Guinness World Records for ‘most coconuts smashed with one hand in one minute’. Dominic smashed 122 coconuts beating the previous record of 118 that had stood since 2011.
