Disney Dreamlight Valley’s first paid expansion, content roadmap and Apple Arcade version revealed

Gameloft revealed a host of upcoming Disney Dreamlight Valley content during a product showcase on Wednesday.

Today’s live stream, which is viewable in full below, followed last week’s news that Disney Dreamlight Valley will be leaving early access on December 5, and that it will no longer be going free-to-play when it does.

On that date, the game’s eighth major content update will introduce a multiplayer mode that lets up to four friends visit each other’s Valleys.

It will also add a new character in the form of Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.

The game’s first paid expansion, A Rift in Time, will also launch on December 5. It will be set in a brand-new location, Eternity Isle, featuring three biomes (Ancient’s Landing, the Glittering Dunes, and the Wild Tangle), with its story unfolding over three acts.

The first, Welcome to Eternity Isle, will feature Gaston, Rapunzel and Eve. It will be followed by The Spark of Imagination in spring 2024, and Treasures of Time in summer 2024, when players will be challenged to foil Jafar’s schemes and fix a rift in time.

When it leaves early access, several editions of Dreamlight Valley will be available. They will range in price from $39.99 for the core game to $69.99 for the Gold Edition, which will include its expansion pass. A Rift in Time will also be available separately for $29.99.

Gameloft has also published a content roadmap outlining what owners of the game can expect from its next handful of major updates.

Highlights include the arrival of Mike Wazowski and Sulley with the Monsters, Inc. Realm in early 2024, and the introduction of Tiana from The Princess and the Frog next summer.

A special Apple Arcade edition of the game will also be released on December 5. Optimised for touch screens, Dreamlight Valley Arcade Edition will include the base game and the A Rift in Time expansion. It will receive all the latest story updates without seasonal Star Paths or The Premium Shop.

Finally, the Disney Dreamlight Valley Original Video Game Soundtrack has been made available to stream on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music Unlimited and Pandora.
