A case was registered against unidentified persons after a BJP leader complained that three cattle carcasses were found near his election office in Jaipur on Friday, officials said. He alleged that the animals were ‘slaughtered’.
Ravi Nayyar, BJP’s candidate for the November 25 Assembly polls from Adarsh Nagar constituency, while talking to reporters on Friday, alleged that his rival candidate was behind the incident and was trying to spoil the communal harmony by attacking the faith of ‘Sanatanis’.
Nayyar, a leader from the Punjabi community, has been fielded by the BJP from Adarsh Nagar. The Congress has once again fielded its sitting MLA Rafeek Khan from the constituency. While levelling the allegations, Nayyar didn’t name Khan but maintained that he suspects him.
“I have my main election office at Govind Marg in Adarsh Nagar. There were three gaumatas (cows) at the office. Today around 6 am, I found them dead. I called up my friends, the municipal corporation and a doctor who said the cows were dead. These are not natural deaths…,” Nayyar alleged.
Nayyar broke down at a press conference while informing reporters about the cattle deaths.
“They want to end Sanatan. When I went home at 1 in the night, the cows were there. But they were dead by 6 in the morning. I didn’t ask for a ticket from the party but the party gave me ticket based on survey. I have full suspicion that my rival candidate is sanatan Virodhi. I demand the a special board be constituted either by the Rajasthan government or Central government to look into the matter,” said Nayyar.
When contacted, Motidoongri police station SHO Lal Singh that a case against unknown persons has been lodged on the basis of Nayyar’s complaint.
