Concluding his visit to India, former English footballer David Beckham added a flavourful twist to his journey, immersing himself in the diverse tapestry of the country’s cuisine. A UNICEF goodwill ambassador alongside cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, Beckham took to social media to share glimpses of his gastronomic adventure.
The football icon’s culinary escapade unfolded with a vibrant thali, showcasing a vast array of Indian delicacies. From indulging in savoury delights like paneer malai tikka, chicken malai tikka, biryani, and dal gosht, Beckham expressed his appreciation for the rich and varied flavours inherent in Indian cooking.
Beckham’s Instagram stories unveiled traditional culinary delights such as makki ki roti, tandoori roti, and a delectable Dahi chaat mixed with sev, pomegranate seeds, and green chutney. His exploration even extended to experiencing Daulat ki Chaat, a beloved winter dish from Delhi, adding another layer to his Indian culinary odyssey.
The football legend, sharing the vibrant snapshots of his culinary encounters, captioned one picture with a heartfelt “Wow, I Love India,” while another featured a simple yet expressive “Yum” alongside “Soooooooooo good.”
Beyond his gastronomic escapades, Beckham delved into meaningful conversations with Sara Ali Khan at the Facebook office in Mumbai and made a visit to Antilla, the lavish residence of the Ambani family.
Subsequently, he was graciously hosted by Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor and her husband Anand Ahuja for a delightful dinner. The legendary footballer’s Indian sojourn reached its pinnacle as Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and his family played hosts for an evening at Mannat, before Beckham bid adieu and returned to Britain.
