A delegation of 17 industry leaders, including three from the Adani Group, will accompany Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on his seven-day tour to Japan and Singapore to promote Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) in the two countries.
The CM is leading a delegation comprising senior bureaucrats and representatives of industries and will fly out from Mumbai late Saturday.
The officials accompanying the CM include Chief Secretary Raj Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary (Industries & Mines) S J Haider, Additional Chief Secretary to the CM Pankaj Joshi, Resident Commissioner Arti Kanwar and Managing Director of IndextB Gaurang Makwana.
Among the industries, maximum representatives are from the Adani Group: Karan Adani, Managing Director (MD) & CEO of APSEZ and Adani Cement; Sagar Adani, MD of Adani Green Energy Ltd; and Saurin Shah, President of Adani Group.
The other representatives from the industries include Pankaj Patel, Chairman of Zydus Lifesciences Ltd; Manish Kiri, CMD Kiri Industries Ltd; Natubhai Patel, CMD Meghmani Industries Ltd; Vikram Shroff, Vice Chairman & Co CEO of UPL Group; Dhanraj Nathwani, Group President of Reliance Industries Ltd; Gursharan Singh, Senior Vice President of Micron Semiconductors; Ranjit Singh, Senior Vice President (Gujarat Affairs) of Maruti Suzuki; Kubota Keiji, Director (HR & Admin) and Takahiro Mori, Representative Director & Executive Vice President of ArcellorMittal Group; Chintan Thaker, Group President and Head Corporate Affairs of Welspun Group; Rahul Shah, COO of Tata Projects Ltd; Nilesh Desai, Head – Strategic Business Development of Suzlon Energy Ltd; Ashish Patel, President of Aditya Birla Group; and Suresh Patel, Chairman of Shayona Group.
During his tour, the CM is scheduled to visit Japanese cities Yamanashi, Tokyo, and Kobe and hold meetings with government and industry officials there between November 26 and December 30 while promoting VGGS scheduled between January 10 and 12.
The CM’s delegation will be in Singapore between December 1 and 2 where high level meetings of the CM have been proposed with the Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore and others.
The delegation is scheduled to return on December 3.
