A budget of Rs 100 crore was allocated for the programmes in the supplementary budget tabled in the state Assembly on Wednesday.

An official document of the UP government’s Directorate of Culture said, “On January 22, 2024, the pran pratishtha at the grand temple in Ayodhya is proposed. For this, lakhs of devotees and tourists will visit the city. The yatra will criss-cross the Ram Van Gaman Path that Lord Ram took during his exile years. During the yatra, kirtan/bhajan/Ramayan recitals will be held at important places such as Chitrakoot and Shringverpur.”

“In all 826 local municipal bodies of UP, recitals will be held at temples and places associated with the Ramayan. From Makarsankranti (January 15, 2024) till the Ram temple inauguration, Ramayan recitals will be held. In the state’s primary and middle schools, drawings, writings, dress and Ramayan recital competitions will be held.
